How can a development heal a landscape and a local economy, and be a model for waterfront development everywhere?

Blackadore Caye Masterplan

How can a development heal a landscape and a local economy, and be a model for waterfront development everywhere?

Blackadore Caye is a 2.2 mile long island in Belize that is being designed to Living Building and Well Building Standards. A resort community consisting of private villas, resort hotel and nature preserve will restore the degraded ecology of the land and water within a vibrant architectural setting.  Reciprocity between man and nature is the basis for design at all scales: the relationship of the sun, earth, and moon define the formal placement of the water villas, arrival plaza and fountain.

The master plan team, consisting of some of the world’s leading engineers and scientists, are working together with the MD team to design this unique Living Community to change the world’s most influential citizens view of sustainability and conservation.
